  • MY STORY

    I NEVER STOPPED PLAYING.

    THE WORLD JUST CAUGHT UP.

    I feel I was born to be a drummer. I picked up my first pair of sticks at 13, marching with a Drum Corps in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. No instructor, no lessons, just the Corps being my school. First drum set at 16 and first band at 17.

    I dreamed of being a rock star after high school. Then I fell in love at 19, married and started a family right away. I continued playing in local bands but the dream of getting in a famous band was put to rest.

    While working in our local music store I became the person to put together and tune all the drum sets. Drummers came from other cities for help in repairing and tuning their drums and to take lessons with me.

    After joining social media and gaining many followers, Drumeo invited me to their studios. “Down With The Sickness” was the song we chose which passed 57M views in a short three months.

    Today they call me the Godmother of Drumming and I have more than 3 million followers across social accounts.

    My drum-off with Questlove on The Tonight Show has been one of the highlights of my life. Since that video more and more female drummers are picking up the sticks. I’m excited to continue to drum and inspire more of the next generation of drummers as they grow and learn.
